Jack treated 5 wounded men and treated/pronounced a Marine during a night attack on 13JUN2012 with a Squad from 1st Battalion 7th Marines (“Suicide”) Charley Company.
John himself was wounded at the time. Two of the wounded were instantaneous dual-amputees. The other two critically wounded Marines – and an interpreter – had to be helped walk out after the ambush. Jack worked the radio for his wounded squad Sergeant.
Before combat patrols in Afghanistan, the Navy sent him to Cuba, notably amidst the Haiti Earthquake in 2010.
“Jack” Worked for 9 months in the U.S. Naval Hospital at Guantanamo Bay. He was a Hospitalman within and for the Primary-Care Clinic, Emergency Room, and Multi-Service Wards.
Prior to entering Service of his Nation, Jack achieved various civilian EMT/medical and Firefighter certifications. He also has an independent Associate’s Degree focusing on those things from Hocking Technical College in south-central Ohio. He earned those achievements after graduating as a 3-sport athlete and student-council representative in 2006 in Hilliard, Ohio’s Davidson High School.
